North Lincoln Fire & Rescue crews were dispatched to a report of a structure fire with flames coming through windows; at about 12:30 am Saturday morning (7/26).

Firefighters arrived to 40’ flames venting from the structure; The Kernville Steak & Seafood House which was recently remodeled and reopened. The restaurant is located just south of Lincoln City and sits overlooking the Siletz River.

Fire crews battled the fire in the about 5,000 square foot three-story structure for nearly three hours before getting under control.

Firefighters remained on scene through the weekend to extinguish flairs ups, as winds began to pick up. The structure is on a slope and fire damage to the structure made entry for investigation extremely dangerous.

Oregon State Fire Marshal Shannon Miller was on-scene to aid North Lincoln Fire & Rescue investigators; a full investigation into the cause of fire may be not expected to begin until Monday July 28th until after structural concerns are addressed.

Several engines and two aerial units from North Lincoln Fire & Rescue and one mutual aid engine from neighboring Depoe Bay Fire had over 30 firefighters on scene at the fire; there are no reported injuries. The building is a complete loss.
